Summary and Skills
I am an Advanced Professional Member of the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading (CIEP) with over 30 years’ experience
of copy-editing, proofreading and project-managing high-quality illustrated art books.

My appreciation of the visual arts and my interest in language have led me to specialise in art books.

Experience
A freelance editor, proofreader and project manager since 1999, I enjoy working as part of a team on a wide variety of art books:

-
academic catalogues highlighting a collection
-
scholarly catalogues raisonnés
-
co-publications in association with international museums, often with numerous contributors
-
exhibition catalogues
-
monographs on a single artist
-
reference books
-
translations from French or German, languages I studied for my degree at the University of Bristol
From 1987 to 1998 I was employed as a copy-editor at Thames & Hudson, the well-respected publisher of illustrated non-fiction books on the arts. I was the Project Manager for the New Horizons reference series from 1992 to 1998.
